On Wednesday, August 6, Governor Pat Quinn signed into a law a payroll card bill that enabled employees to access their wages via a debit card free of hidden fees and charges. This law will prevent employees from being charged to access their pay checks. COFI, which helped to lobby for the bill, earned the honor of having the bill signed at their office headquarters.
