In addition to being award as Partner of the Year Award at the 2014 Illinois Asset Building Group (IABG) Conference, COFI was also honored as the Poverty Fighter of the Month by IABG, a project of Heartland Alliance! COFI and IABG have worked alongside each other to raise awareness of the growing racial wealth gap, expand access to Children’s Savings Accounts, and pass a number of bills at the state level including one that removes barriers to savings opportunities for TANF recipients and another that protects the wages of workers paid via a payroll card.
