COFI Parent Leaders Publish Digital Stories

Four COFI parent leaders participated in digital storytelling workshops with DePaul’s Egan Center and the “Parents as Disruptors” initiative. Parent leaders teamed up with DePaul students to create their own digital stories in a series of workshops.

They reflected on their experiences as parent leaders and change agents. Then they spent over 20 hours drafting and editing stories and recording and editing their videos.

Rosazlia Grillier, Karen Lynn Morton, Maria Leticia Toribio and Gloria Harris share their transformation as parent leaders, the impact it has had on their personal lives, and the impact in their schools and communities.

Parents as Disruptors is an initiative of DePaul’s Egan center, whose goal is to bring together Chicago-area parents to raise their voices against education inequity.
